Ultimate Game Club Direct

Hey guys! Welcome to another week of Game Club news. I know we haven't had one for a few weeks but this week we have news to spare! End of semester exams may be looming in the distance but there is still a lot of cool things in the works to keep you guys busy! First of I would like to start with the current guild point standings!

 8th - Rakdos

 7th - Gruul

 6th - Orzhov

 5th - Simic

 4th - Azorius

 Tied for 3rd - Boros/Golgari

 Tied for 2nd - Izzet/Selesnya

 1st - Dimir

It seems that the sneaky agents of Dimir are still in first place. They really have a knack for showing up everywhere! Remember that any and every time that a 5$ dress day coincides with a Game Club meeting, there will be guild points assigned for wearing your guild colors. Again this is only if your attire is at least 75% your colors. If you fear that your guild is not leading the pack, don't worry there will be many more opportunities to grab some glory for your Guild!

Speaking of Guilds... Two weeks from now on Friday the 14th of this month we will have an end of semester MTG tournament! All Game Club members are invited to play for Guild points and glory. The tournament is single elimination and anything goes with the only exceptions being any decks that include cards banned in modern. There is a lot more to say about this but I will save the details for a future update. Happy deck building!

I know it's been a while since we last had a teacher in at Game Club so I would like to announce our last guest teacher of 2018! Next Wednesday, Mr. Jon Pohl will be coming in to play Oregon Trail with you guys! Oregon Trail is a Six player team game where the steaks are high and so is the mortality rate. I will be teaching the rules the day we play! If you are interested in either playing with Mr. Pohl or playing Oregon Trail, please come in on Wednesday.

Next I would like to  introduce you guys to an exciting new Game Club Direct segment that Trace and I have been working on for a bit. Drakes and Debates! This segment will include at least one of us (Dani or Trace) debating with another member of Game Club about some geeky topic. After reading the debating there will be a chance for you guys to vote on who won! Our first segment will premiere next week and while we had a lot of good ideas we wanted to give you guys the final word. Below is a form where you can vote on which topic we should cover first.

Exam week may be stressful but our party planning committee is here to help! Game Club is going to have a Christmas part fit with food, games and friends. The plan is to have it during exam week to give you guys some rest from all the lonely studying and stressful nights. It should be right after the exams on Wednesday the 19th and food should be provided (assuming everyone helps by participating). Before anything is set in stone however we want to send a form (linked below) to see if you guys would be interested in this sort of event. Remember we can only do these sorts of things with your help so please fill out the form! Again I would like to thank Isabella and Emmagrace for undergoing the stress it takes to plan these things.

And now last but certainly not least I am happy to announce something that several people have been quite exited about... The Guilds of Ravnica D&D campaign is on the horizon. Six brave participants will be able to brave the streets as members of their guild and participate in Game Club's very own roleplaying experience! This is going to be pretty high quality. I am sinking much time and energy into making every part of this story neat and fulfilling for those who will be participating. This also means we will be usings maps, miniatures and several other cool items to make this campaign come to life. This does not cheap however and anyone who gets into the adventuring party must be prepared to make a 10$ donation that will go towards buying equipment for the campaign. The sign up link is right below. Only 6 players may enter so it is first come first serve. I know that seems lame but I do have some plans in the works for those who will be unable to participate but are still interested in roleplaying! Don't let this keep you from filling out the form however because if someone in the first six people cannot join, I will go to the other people who filled out the form to complete the party. Anyway here it is!

Before I go I would like to announce the name of the campaign...

"The Anarchy Conspiracy"

Wow that was a lot of news! I hope it was enough for you guys! Thanks you all for participating in all of these awesome events. Please make sure to keep coming by and supporting the community and all we do! This club is about you guys so I hope you are all excited for all this upcoming stuff! Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks, Dani
